Taoyuan American School (TYAS) was honored to host a cultural exchange event with Japan's renowned Keishin High School. This event aimed to foster cross-cultural understanding, build friendships, and provide students with a unique opportunity to experience each other's educational environments.
The day began with a warm welcome speech by the TYAS High School vice President, Mr. Swanston, who introduced our school and its mission to our esteemed guests. Representatives from Keishin High School responded with an enthusiastic introduction of their own school, followed by an amazing performance that brought a vibrant touch of Japanese culture to our campus. This cultural exchange enriched the TYAS community, deepening our students' appreciation and understanding of Japanese traditions and values.
To encourage interaction and to break the ice, TYAS students prepared a series of engaging warm-up activities, setting a lively tone for the day. The students quickly bonded, with laughter and excitement filling the atmosphere as they participated in these activities together.
Following the warm-up, Keishin High School students joined our TYAS classes for an immersive experience. They participated in sessions across a variety of subjects, including digital publication, art, music, STEM, and Spanish. This hands-on experience allowed students from both schools to explore different learning approaches, enhancing their educational journey and broadening their perspectives.
The day concluded with a spirited intramural game of dodgeball, where students from TYAS and Keishin High School played together, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening new friendships.
